Promotion is crucial to success in any business. In the MLM business you need to tell people about your product and Opportunity. I know that most of us had been taught to prepare a name list or prospect list. You may come up with say 300
names. You can approach these people who are your warm prospects. However, there are two problems here:

1. In most cases the people who are close to you are the most difficult to convince.

2. At some stage you’ll run out of warm prospects.
So how do you like to reach out to the millions whom you do not know? If so read further!

You have to combine Hi Touch with Hi Tech. Although you can utilize the Internet, web sites and other technology to promote your MLM business, I believe that personal communication is more important.

You can use the existing system that your upline organization has to do your promotion. Basically there are two ways to do your promotion. You can use the Offline method and also the Online method.

I strongly believe that to maximize on your promotion you need to have a web site. Hey, you can reach out to the millions whom you do not know with your web site. There is also no personal rejection!

Your web site needs to be able to capture your prospects details and at the same time provide them with basic information about your program. You need to be able to sort out your prospects to differentiate those who are serious from those who are tire kickers.

I had been involved with marketing on the Internet for more than eight years. I am now using my experience and knowledge to create a replicated online recruitment web site for my team members. It will be advisable to request the prospects to SMS you for more information rather than calling you. You can offer a free Information Pack consisting of information about your products and business opportunity.

Here are some ways to do your offline promotion:

1. Advertisements in newspapers and magazines
2. Brochures and flyers
3. Postcards and drop cards
4. Name cards
5. Stickers
6. You can put your web site address on the back screen of your car.
7. Provide free talks on topics related to what you are marketing.
8. Gift items

These are only some of the ways. I am sure you can come out with your own creative ideas. How about putting your web site address on you travel baggage. When you fly and upon arrival, you can leave your bag on the conveyor belt for all the other travelers to see!

Let’s quickly look at the online promotion you could do:

1. Include your web site address and a short description as your email footer.

2. Use GOOGLE Adwords and other Pay Per Click Search engines to promote.

3. Join business opportunity forums and promote indirectly. Remember that most forums will not allow you to promote aggressively.

4. Use Traffic Exchanges to promote.

5. Classified Ads on online newspapers and magazines.

6. Using BLOGS.

Cappuccino Story: The Future Does Not Equal The Past

Sometime ago, scientists carried out a simple experiment on a barracuda. They put the barracuda into a big glass aquarium. They began to feed the barracuda with small fishes. The barracuda would swim towards the small fishes and in one gulp would swallow the fishes. They continued putting the small fishes into the glass container as food for the barracuda. Then one day the scientists put a glass partition at the centre of the glass aquarium. They put the small fishes into the opposite side of the glass aquarium. As the barracuda approached to have it’s food, it would hit against the glass partition. It was puzzled in the beginning, but it kept on trying. And it kept on failing and hitting against the glass partition until one day, it stopped trying. The scientists then removed the glass partition, and the small fishes were released to swim all over the glass aquarium. The amazing discovery was that the barracuda did not try to go for the fishes. It has been conditioned to think that it will only hit against the glass partition. The sad thing was that, eventually, the barracuda died surrounded with abundance of food.

SUCCESS PRINCIPLES

Just like the barracuda most of us will stop ourselves from trying just because we experienced failures in the past. We think that since we failed before, why we should try again since we will probably get the same result. We prefer to die rather than try, just like the barracuda. We have been conditioned not to try anymore because of the fear of failure. To be successful we have to get rid of this limiting belief, and accept a new and empowering belief, “the future does not equal the past”.
